Japanese Culture Vol. 5 -Omatsuri-

Hello!

I'm Megumi at LEG CLOVER.

I will introduce Japanese festival. 

In Japan, various festivals are held in summer mainly at every place.

In Japanese festival, you can see a festival car called “Da shi”.

This movie shows “Da shi” of “Hu na i Pacchin” which is one of the festival held in Oita prefecture.

This “Da shi” is made with a Japanese famous military commander as a model.

It is very cool and powerful!!!!

The clothes that performers of festival are wearing is called “Happi”, which is Japanese traditional clothes.

The pronunciation of “Happi” is similar to “Happy” :D 

And, you can see lots of “De mi se” which are simple shop at Japanese festival.

Because there are some foods that you can buy at only “De mi se”, I recommend that you go to Japanese festival when you are hungry.

I prefer “Ringo-Ame (sweetened apple)” and “Ika-Yaki(broiled squid)”.

Japanese festival has different features by its venue.

今日は日本のお祭りについてご紹介します。

日本では主に夏に各地で様々なお祭りが開催されます。

日本のお祭りでは、山車と呼ばれる乗り物を見ることができます。

映像は「府内ぱっちん」という大分県のお祭りの山車です。

この山車は日本の有名な武将をモデルに作られています。

とてもかっこよくて、迫力がありますね。

お祭りに参加している人が来ている服は「法被」と呼ばれる日本の伝統的な服です。

Happyと似ていますね。

また、お祭りでは、「出店」と呼ばれる簡易的なお店をたくさん見ることができます。

出店でしか食べられない食べ物もあるので、

お祭りに行く前は、おなかをすかせていくことをお勧めします。

私が好きな出店の食べ物は「リンゴあめ」と「イカ焼き」です。

お祭りは、開かれる場所によって特色があるので、いろんなお祭りに行って、お気に入りのお祭りを見つけてみてはどうですか？

Japanese Culture Vol.4 -Hashi-

Hello, everyone.  I’m Rimi at LEG CLOVER.

This time, I would like to introduce how to use chopsticks.
The first, I will show you how to use upper chopstick.
When we hold upper chopstick, we use the index finger, the middle finger and the thumb.
First, please make this shape as this picture.
We put the upper chopstick on the middle finger.
We close our thumb to the first finger of the first knuckle joint.
This is how to hold upper chopstick.
When we move it, we move only the first finger and the middle finger.
When you move it, be careful not to hook the thumb.
The next, I will show you how to use lower chopstick.　This way is simple.
The first, we make this shape again
We put the lower chopstick on the third finger and the end of the thumb.
Then we hold it with the thumb. We do not move the lower chopstick.
Just support.
Let’s hold them together.
Please put on the lower chopstick and put on upper chopstick too.
Then, draw your middle finger a little bit for the behind.
If you do it, you can move chopsticks like this.
We move chopsticks as the movie.

今回は日本での食事では欠かせない、箸の使い方について説明したいと思います。

まずはじめに、上の箸のもち方について説明します。
上の箸を持つには、親指、人差し指、中指の三つを使います。
先ず、手をこのような形にしてください。
そして中指の上に、箸を一本のせます。
そして親指を人差し指の第一関節に近づけます。
これが、上の箸の持ち方です。
動かす際は、人差し指と中指だけを動かします。
この際、親指は曲げないので注意してください。
次に下の箸の持ち方について説明します。この持ち方はとてもシンプルです。
最初は先ほどのようにこのような円を作ります。
そして薬指と親指の付け根に箸をおきます。
そして親指で挟みます。下の箸は支えるだけで動かしません。

では2本を一緒に持ってみましょう。
下の箸を持ち、そして上の箸をのせます。
そして挟まっている中指を少し後ろに引きます。
するとこのように箸を動かすことができると思います。

このようにして私たち日本人は箸を使っています。

Japanese Culture Vol.3 -Onigiri-

Hello, everyone.  I’m Rimi at LEG CLOVER.

This time, I would like to introduce how to make “Onigiri”.

Something to prepare
・rice
・nori
・wrap
・stuff for rice boll
・small bowl

This time, I will use “Umebosi” as stuff for rice ball.

The first, we put a sheet of plastic and big wrap in the bowl

We put Nori and rice on it.

We also make a small hole on the rice to put on stuff for rice ball.

We put on our favorite stuff of rice ball on the hall.

We put some rice on it to hide.
And shape rice into triangle.

We finally made “Onigiri”!

This is rapped.
So, it does not stick to your fingers

We also make many kinds of Onigiri!

今回は簡単なおにぎりの作り方について説明します。

使うものは、ご飯、のり、ラップ、好きな具材、どんぶり用のボール、もしくはお茶碗を用意します。
今回は具材として梅干を使います。
まずは、ボールもしくは大きめのお茶碗に大きめにラップを敷きます。
そしてのりを入れ、その上にご飯をのせます。
その際、真ん中に少しくぼみを作っておきます。
ここのくぼみには、好きな具材をのせます。
そしてそれを覆うようにご飯をのせます。
そして、にぎります。
これでおにぎりの完成です。

食べるときも、ご飯がラップに包まれているので、手も汚れません。
他にも、様々なおにぎりが作れます。

Have you ever been to fireworks display?
Most Japanese people go to fireworks display every year.
Fireworks display were held in July to September everywhere in japan.
When we go to fireworks display, many people wear "Yukata".
This is a part of Japanese custom.
Japanese fireworks display is so amazing!!
There are many kinds of fireworks.　So big one, heart-shaped and smile-shaped ect...
Not only child but also adult are into watching fireworks.
The atmospheres is really different from place. So, we can enjoy many times.

皆さんは花火大会に行ったことはありますか。
多くの日本人は毎年花火大会を見に行きます。
花火大会は七月から九月にかけて日本各地で開催されています。
花火大会に行く際、多くの人は浴衣を着ます。
これは日本の習慣の1つです。

日本の花火大会は本当に素晴らしいです。
びっくりするほど大きな花火から、ハートやスマイル、土星といった可愛い花火もあります。
そのため、大人も子供も夢中になって花火を眺めます。
また、日本の花火大会は場所によって全く雰囲気が異なるので何度行っても楽しめます。

Japanese Famous Places Vol.1 -Beppu city-

I'm Megumi at LEG CLOVER.

We are offering free Japanese lesson for people come from other countries on every Saturday night in Tokyo Otsuka.

I will introduce Beppu city an Oita prefecture which is one the famous places in Japan. 

Oita prefecture is places in south of Japan.

Beppu city has the biggest amount of welling up hot spring in Japan.

Not only the amount of hot spring but also its kind is really extensive.

There are 11 types as kind of hot spring quality.

In Beppu city, 10 kinds of hot springs are welling up.

As you see, hot springs are welling up and steam are drifting everywhere.

My favorite hot spring is “Takegawara Onsen”.

You can take hot spring for only 100 yen!!

The building is retro, it looks so nice.

Moreover, you can enjoy “Suna buro” which is to sprinkle warm sand your on body and to warm your body by sand heat.

In Beppu city, you can enjoy various steamed foods which are made by steam of hot spring.

Pudding is one of the steamed foods.

Beppu city has other delicious foods and nice places for sight seen.

今日は日本の有名な観光地の一つ、大分県の別府市をご紹介します。

大分県は日本の南にある県です。

別府市は日本で一番湧き出る温泉の量が多い市です。

量だけでなく種類も豊富で、全部で11種類ある温泉のうち10種類が湧き出ています。

町中のいたるところで温泉が湧き出ており、湯気があがっています。

私のおすすめは竹瓦温泉です。

たったの１００円で温泉に入れます。

建物もレトロで素敵です。

また、温めた砂を全身にかける砂風呂も楽しめます。

別府では温泉の湯気を利用した様々な蒸し料理が楽しめます。

プリンもあります。

ほかにもおいしい食べ物や楽しい場所がたくさんあります。

Japanese Culture Vol.1-Doyo no Ushi no hi-

I'm Megumi at LEG CLOVER.
We are offering free Japanese lesson for people come from other countries on every Saturday night in Tokyo Otsuka.

I will introduce Japanese traditional custom in summer to you.
In Japan, we eat eel on one day in July called “Doyo no Ushinohi”.
It is said that ill has high nutritional values .
So we eat it to prevent suffering from summer heat.
The most popular cuisine of eel called “Unajyu”.
There is rice in the square food box called “Jyu” and “Kabayaki” of eel on the rice.
“Kabayaki” is one of the cooking methods for fish in Japan, it is to broil something over charcoal fire with salty-sweet sauce.
“Doyo no Ushinohi” changes every year.
In 2016, it was 30th July.

今回は、日本の伝統的な夏の習慣を紹介します。
日本では、土用の丑の日と呼ばれる７月のある日にうなぎを食べる習慣があります。
うなぎは栄養価が高いので、うなぎを食べて夏バテを予防するのです。

うなぎの最も有名な料理の「うな重」です。
うな重とは、お重と呼ばれる四角い器にご飯をいれて、上にかばやきにしたうなぎをのせた料理です。
かば焼きとは甘辛いたれにつけ、炭火で焼いたものです。

土用の丑の日は毎年変わります。2016年は7/30でした。
