We have free Japanese lessons at English Academy CLOVER which is located in Otsuka, Tokyo.
If you aren’t in Tokyo(you are in Okinawa, Fukuoka, Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, Sapporo and so on), or you are in other counties(Europe, Oceania, America and so on), don't worry!
We can still study with you on Skype.
All nationalities are welcome to study together, such as English native speakers, Chinese, Korean, Thai, German, Spanish, and so on. However, minimum level of English (pre-intermediate English level) is required. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us ;)
Both school and Skype Japanese lessons are constructed by volunteers who are students at English Academy CLOVER.
They are all native Japanese speakers, and they want to talk with you.

Japanese Culture Vol.1-Doyo no Ushi no hi-


Hello!

I'm Megumi at LEG CLOVER.
We are offering free Japanese lesson for people come from other countries on every Saturday night in Tokyo Otsuka.

I will introduce Japanese traditional custom in summer to you.
In Japan, we eat eel on one day in July called “Doyo no Ushinohi”.
It is said that ill has high nutritional values .
So we eat it to prevent suffering from summer heat.

The most popular cuisine of eel called “Unajyu”.
There is rice in the square food box called “Jyu” and “Kabayaki” of eel on the rice.
“Kabayaki” is one of the cooking methods for fish in Japan, it is to broil something over charcoal fire with salty-sweet sauce.

“Doyo no Ushinohi” changes every year.
In 2016, it was 30th July.

私たちは、毎週土曜日の夜に無料で外国人向けの日本語のレッスンを開催しています。
場所は東京の大塚です。


今回は、日本の伝統的な夏の習慣を紹介します。
日本では、土用の丑の日と呼ばれる7月のある日にうなぎを食べる習慣があります。
うなぎは栄養価が高いので、うなぎを食べて夏バテを予防するのです。


うなぎの最も有名な料理の「うな重」です。
うな重とは、お重と呼ばれる四角い器にご飯をいれて、上にかばやきにしたうなぎをのせた料理です。

かば焼きとは甘辛いたれにつけ、炭火で焼いたものです。

土用の丑の日は毎年変わります。2016年は7/30でした。
